Each Thanksgiving at my parents house, I’m in charge of the Cranberry sauce, and this year I decided to jazz it up a bit! This recipe has pears added and honey instead of cane sugar. You can definitely taste the flavor of the honey, which complements the tartness of the cranberries very nicely. Try it out for your next holiday feast!
Our Thanksgiving Dinner
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
Total time: 25 minutes
Yield: 13 servings
12 ounces fresh cranberries
2 ripe pears, peeled and cored, cubed small
1/2 cup honey (or agave to taste)
1 cup water
Bring all the ingredients to a boil on high heat in a medium saucepan. When boiling, reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool before refrigerating. Serve chilled. Makes 3 1/4 cups.
